It's almost 2 years since I was last here..
LulZ as we originally 'borrowed' a scaff ladder from a nearby building site and hauled it down into the culvert to make life back then a little easier ;)
With a good run of decent weather, it was Camera Shy who hinted at a this one, and tbh I've been meaning to pay the place another visit, so why not!
The way to the outfall had changed a little since last time, as the building site was no more.
We soon made it down to the outfall
A concrete box section with a plughole draining in around 10m in
What was once no doubt a rock-blasted affair, has since suffered teh fate of the spray crete.
I'd love to have seen this place before the makeover..
The sound of the falls is something else, and it wasn't long before we passed the old scaff ladder, washed up/wedged up & bent out of shape R.I.P
Stood in the main chamber with the 2 weirs thundering ahead of us,
it was soon apparent the way on would be no more

With no choice but to jib out and drop back in upstream, we were soon back in familiar territory
The brook is quickly culverted through this age old vaulted stone section,
eventually the watercourse splits around 400 yards in
The larger tunnel on the left brings you to the top of the main weir
(Looking down on the outfall chamber mentioned earlier)
Back track to the vaulted section and passing this manhole shaft along the way
Brings you into a much smaller st00py dressed stone tunnel
At The End
A slippery death slide brings you to the top of the smaller weir located above the outfall chamber
Heading further upstream we checked out the rest of the culvert
This section was originally named 'MYRA',
after moors murderer Myra Hindley who once lived in the vicinity of the culvert..
