NGTE Pyestock, 'Start the fan tour 2011'

Ojay/Havoc/Lawrence/Tweedy...

Where do I start with this..

Firstly there won't be any history from me as it's been flogged to death over the years.

Instead have a read through THIS

It was also used to film scenes for Sahara CHECK IT

I have chose to avoid this place in the past, sure there are some excellent reports on here, more so the early ones where the place appeared to be in a much better state than it is today.

I really wasn't gonna go out of my way to see it unless I was in the area, and alas we found ourselves at a loose end on NY Eve after parting ways with Rooks in LON after an insane 24 hrs..

Furthermore I think the place has been hyped up far too much in recent times, I mean tales of Gurkhas & security run arounds amuse me somewhat all true no doubt, but really the place isn't as epic as people make out!

Infact If I'm honest I haven't encountered anything as piss easy as mooching about Pyestock, with this seemingly the only deterrent

Jumping a gate and heading up the main drive seemed like a good option, after all security are pretty useless here, evident surely by the amount of metal thieves that operate here!

The bus wasn't in service for long, on foot it is

Air House

Chavoc Urbex, graffing the place up..

Cell 3, apparently this place isn't achievable any more without abseiling in....
*Cough* Bullshit!

Cell 4, now somewhat of a derp filmset

It's not about..

It's more about dicking about and having giggles

I did enjoy some aspects of this place, sure the above pics are 'touristy' but honestly there is far better than this out there ('KIP).. Go explore peeps and be safe in 2012...

G.E.C. Pipe Subs - E60, LON

Ojay/Rookinella/Havoc/Lawrence/Tweedy/OliverGT...
Each time I visit LON, I'm gonna make an effort to include a trip down these cable runs, as I find them interesting albeit them being a bit repetetive.

This one is quite interesting, located in Westminster with a number of possible ways on from a chaotic junction.

Access is a bit on-top, but what isn't really if you want to see some of the obscure/off limits subterranean infrastructure..

London Bridge

Ojay/Rookinella/Havoc/Lawrence/Tweedy/OliverGT...

One thing LON has is lots of phone boxes & bridges, but not just any bridge or phonebox ;)

This here bridge is definately not falling down...

Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels (U/stream & P3), Manchester

When it rains...
This has been put off far far too long, so I had this great idea of checking it out today, and then the rain came.. Crack On!....

Divided into 2 sections, (Upper & Lower). Lock Stock is essentially a Victorian sewer relief system, acting as a twin CSO if you like

The setup is quite unique, but in essence provides for an overflow between the Davyhulme Outfall 'A' & 'B' Trunk sewers and outfalls into the Manchester Ship Canal

'Upper Lockstock' consists of an age old Victorian Storm Overflow Chamber for the Davyhulme Outfall 'A' sewer which also passes through here via a 3m RBP which carries some of Manchester's finest rapid flowing nuggets

For a full explanation of the whole system CHECK THIS

(circa 1920) City Engineers

Blockades in place I set about lifting the most inconvenient manhole in Manchester, and then I shit you not, it started to piss down..

Descending 30ft down the ancient brick shaft via some rather sketch rusting step irons with a shit tonne of storm water off the road running down was pricless :D

(sorry about the shit pics,
big crack on filter & the gaff was steamy as fuck)

Once down THIS...

About 20ft down this landing stage/penstock chamber P3

Overlooking the gantry can be seen the Davyhulme 'A' Outfall sewer

(This 4m river of shit was overflowing)

Upstream overflow chamber

Huge supporting columns with slanted ledges leading to a CSO, beautiful sloping brick floor, smooth curved red brick arches - Yes Please!

I decided it would be a good idea to solo it into the fresh for a close up

Just maybe it wasn't a good idea but this chamber was one big wankfest of Victorian epicness, and I wasn't going home empty handed.

With hindsight waders would have been the better option, still nothing more fun than mooching about in p00p

There are also a number of smaller rusted penstocks once used to relieve the sewer

The discharging sewer heads downstream, passing the 'Cross of Insanitry' through this 3m RBP

Around 200m it joins ['Lower Lockstock', here access is denied as the Davyhulme 'B' Outfall sewer cuts across from left to right through a 4m cast iron pipe,

Below it is a deadly sump which makes traversing further impossible

(Pic taken from last year as it was impossible to walk any further due to the insane flow)

Grahams Grovel

Ojay/Rookinella/Havoc/Lawrence...

In an ambitious attempt to access MF districts 19 & 20 we thought we would endure the ridiculous crawl to Grahams.

Having been awake since 5am the previous day with no sleep whatsoever, Rooks convinced us to crawling about in Browns was a good idea :p

Despite having been here 5 times already, access somewhat eluded as in the pitch black!

Every bit of us, including kit took a full beating, only to find Wansdykes finest had sealed the place up again :(

The fails really are better than the real thing ;)

Co-operative HQ, Manchester

Climbing frames...

Essentially a building site,
which will soon be home to the Co-operative group HQ.

Manchester has been the Group’s home for nearly 150 years and the new building is a demonstration of The Co-operative’s current success

It is due to open in summer 2012 and it will add a striking new landmark to the city’s skyline

The 15 storey building will be the home to more than 3,000 employees working across the Group’s family of retailing and financial services businesses.

I remember Gone originally hitting up one of the cranes when this place first popped up.

Since then nothing, until Leaf hit up the site late year, narrowly avoiding arrest as GMP's finest once again went overkill to coax him down from one of the cores :D

Just lately it's become somewhat of an attraction..

..And why not, some decent views to be had from up here!

Driving past here everyday and looking up I decided now was the time as the place has finally topped out.

Despite what others have said this place was a piece of piss, with no evidence of any PIR's and some rubbish camera work I hopped the gate and mooched on in.

Even jumping out, the less than efficient secca failed to notice the 2 of us legging it across the yard, happy days :)
