Not saying a lot about this in the public domain, suffice to see we had some lulZ along the way during our rather shortlived visit.
HISTORY:
Spring is a large stone quarry converted by the Minsistry of Aircraft production in WWII.
The quarry was home to the largest underground factory in the world, also home to the Bristol Aerospace Company and a BSA's gun barrel factory situated to the West.
The factory closed in 1945 after the Second World War, leaving a bill of over £20M.
It was since used by the Ministry of Supplies who used most of the site for Royal Navy stores until the early 90's.
The Northern area of Spring was chosen as the wartime seat of power in case of a nuclear war.
Only a handful of pics (Sorry), we were only passing through on this occasion ;)
