Palace Hotel Clocktower

Ojay/Skudge/Anon/George...

The lads had wanted to take a look at clocks for a while now, so clocks it was.

It was ice cold and a reet old pea souper had descended on the City.
Up high, you sure ?

The fog was getting progressively worse, you can barely see the end of Oxford Rd here, the next few snaps you could barely see the road, so this will have to suffice ^

Also no point pissing about in the dome as pics weren't happening and there was a bunch of pigeons  flapping about and shitting everywhere. No Thanks!

Heading back down to grab a few pics and chill above Oxford Rd

And finally some cocks.. er I mean Clocks..

Renaissance, Manchester

♥ Manchester...

15 floors ■ 199 rooms ■ 4 suites ■ 9 meeting rooms

I remember having a crack at this with Sneak a couple of years back now, once easily do-able it was a no go (prob is again by the time I bother to post this).

The Lower rooftop was and still is accessible, however it's pretty un-inspiring (especially since the bulb had blown).

What else can I say, it's a chilled rooftop offering some unique views of the Blackfriars district of Manc, on a clear night you can see all the way up Deansgate and beyond...

Dodge Hill (Again), Stockport

Ojay/Nic/Shorty/Liam...

Another place that needs no introductions, again having been here loads over the past few years.

At a loose end and with the weather being shite, I agreed to take some friends underground so they could play with long exposures.

I only got my camera out for a few pics for old times sake, as I was busy poking around and playing lighting bitch :p

Peace

Barton Arcade Re-visited

Re-visit...

My second trip to this place, except this time I decided to take a closer look at some of the other fine deco this place has to offer.

This fine three storey cast iron and glass conservatory-like structure with its cast iron roof was erected by Corbett, Raby and Sawyer in 1874
The arcade was the first building erected on the newly widened Deansgate
Its cast iron and glass were produced at the Macfarlane Saracen Glass Factory in Glasgow
Macfarlanes were the leading makers of architectural cast iron decorative details, Walter Macfarlane the founder of the company was originally a silversmith
The building has been extensively restored since the 1980's, and is now a Grade II Listed Building of special architectural interest
Many of the original shop fronts have long since disappeared as have the decorative tiled floors
Its renaissance is a tribute to the conservator's skill and sensitivity, and is now home to many elegant and high class shops.

Apologies for the shaky pics, this was a rushed job with the ISO ramped up on the way to something else, still it got me out of the rain for 20 mins!

Make some noise..

There were no lights on in here the last time around

In the end I was busted, still a fair cop and I'd already seen the undercroft on a previous trip..

Twin Turbo, Manchester

Ojay/Moorsy...

Another one of Manchester's intercepting sewers and bredrin of Hulme Flume and the Davyhulme boys.

Constructed circa 1913, (Largely an 8ft brick pipe) this interceptor receives flow from other connecting transverse sewers along the way to the WwTW.

(Pic c/o City Engineers)

Located on the outskirts of Hulme this 2.5m super sharp p00p-shooter fires some serious nuggets, intercepting upstream of Hulme Flume which eventually becomes the 'A' outfall sewer down to the works.

Props to Little Mike/SL/Scott, (originally named by Sneak).

This one ticks 2 boxes for me 'Twin Turbo' was something I had wanted to see for some time now.

Yet despite pestering a few people over the last couple of years and some failed lid lifting (not like I hadn't tried) I was none the wiser.

Once I started to follow 'Work 4' via staring down various manhole shafts, yet being unable to traverse it due to the nature of the beast I had all but given up on that too.

Memories were fading and may days of popping lids in the Hulme area were long over!

The real annoyance being that I always knew within a street or two there was this place, and even more annoyingly popped a nearby lid over 2 years ago almost opposite and walked on by unknowingly.

At a loose end myself and Moorsy went for a mooch (big up), his memory of the area and my previous street level wanderings managed to hit the right lid first time...

..Continuing upstream of Hulme Flume

One slight problem the lid was bang in the middle of a road again in a fairly busy area (and a twat to budge)..

Deploy roadblocks

Make no mistake, this is far from epic or whatever, but more another piece in the jigsaw and believe me it felt good staring down that shaft finally!

(or up as is the case)

4m down some rusty step irons you hit a concrete walkway above the 2 sewers

(Infact just to the left you can see the upper reaches of Hulme flume)

The pics make it look clean it wasn't, anyway I climbed down a further 3 or 4 metres to another walkway which seperates the junction in which the 2 sewers run parallel.

Firstly (to the left), Hulme Flume (upper) 3.6m RBP

The other side of the walkway (to the right) 'Work 4' sewer runs parallel via a 2.5m RBP

Apologies, but the pics deteriorated here as it was steamy as hell, I managed to climb down the final rungs underneath the walkway.

The space in between serves as another balancer, it was slippery as hell and the impeding mist of shite made pics almost impossible to the point I gave up..

Finally I attempted to take this shot looking up and thought I heard voices from above so decided to bail

Above ground curtains were twitching and like all previous visits to the area we had once again started to attract some unwanted attention, time to leave!

Premier Inn 2012

Closed..open...open...CLOSED...

..This place has become one of the most notorious spots in Manc, and a good few have had their share of good times up here over the years!

I'd been back up almost every night for over a week, having met a few new and old faces in the process, I only took the camera back up the one time for a final pic..

The surrounding area has changed dramatically in 2 years as you can see in the pic below

Goodtimes

Echo Falls Re-visited

Ojay/TLR...

I bumped into The Lone Ranger as he drove around in circles in Rochdale.

He had wanted to take a look at this place for a while, and given it was pissing it down it seemed like the best option.

A few of mine and a couple from TLR...

Vicc Undercroft, Manchester

Ojay/Ninjaboy/Nic/Shorty...

This place needs no introductions really having been here a few times now over the past few years.

I even had a key at one point and shared it out with 'others' to go and take a look, sadly them days are gone and I'd almost forget about the place until I remembered Lee still hadn't been.

The pacer front-end has now been removed, and a few of the other rooms have been stripped of their warez :(

As we mooched about further up in the building we triggered a sensor which I hadn't spotted before, stealth was no longer an option as we legged it the fuck out!!

Anyway a few more pics, I doubt I will ever be going back here..

A few I pinched from Nic
