Premier Inn

Visited by Ojay, Gone & Rookie.

It was one hell of a cold evening, after doing a number of smaller rooftops around the town with Jim Gillette and not having much success attempting to take photos of some snow art on a nearby carpark roof we headed over to Great Northern Tower just as the sun was beginning to set. After an embarrassing attempt at getting the lift to move, which can't be done without a code we headed up the stairs past security, 23 levels up but the roof was locked so no joy there either! I don't have any decent photos from there as I haven't had enough chance to play with the settings however Gone and Rookie managed to get some decent shots of Great Northern and the Hilton.

Not to be put off we then headed over to the Premier Inn where I had a chance to feck about a bit more with my new SLR, shame the tripod was a struggle so borrowed Gones' (thanks).

Anyway I managed to get 4 or 5 half decent photos, just need a bit more experience with the SLR before my next outing.

Thanks guys, will meet up as soon as the ice melts!

Some History:

"The chain started trading in 1987 as 'Travel Inn'. In 2004, Whitbread acquired Premier Lodge for £505 million. This added an additional 141 hotels to the existing portfoloio and Whitbread re-branded all hotels as "Premier Travel Inn", which was soon shortened to "Premier Inn".

Premier Inn is the UK's largest hotel brand, with over 40,000 rooms and more than 590 hotels. Originally opened under the "Travel Inn" brand name in 1987, it has been owned by Whitbread during its entire operation and was set up to compete with the Travelodge brand which was at the time owned by Forte.
