Tetley's Brewery, Leeds

Shouts to Squirrell...

Tetley’s has a history that is inextricably linked to Leeds and spans over 175 years.

In 1822, Joshua Tetley set up his brewing business just yards away from where Tetley’s Brewery Wharf is today.

The Brewery currently stands on the largest site it has ever stood on, after over 180 years of expansion.

In 1906 the brewery stood on a fraction of its current site between Brook Street, Hunslet Road (this part now being known as Hunslet Lane), Crown Point Road and Waterloo Street.

Many smaller streets in the vicinity have since disappeared under the ever extending brewery.

Parts of the original buildings still stand and extensions have been built as late as 2006.

The Brewery also opened a museum on the 19 March 1994.

Following an amalgamation with Carlsberg, Tetley’s is now the 6th biggest brewer in the world.

The factory is immense, and there is a constant waft of beer as you walk around the site!

Tetley's brewery finally closed its doors on 17 June 2011. After almost 200 years as a landmark on the southern approaches of Leeds.

Around 185 million pints of Tetley's are produced every year, production of Tetley beer will now be moved to Northampton.

Myself and Squirell had sat on this place for over a week now whilst he waited for his new camera battery to arrive..

Enough waiting around, a plan was hatched on off we went.

Not to be disappointed as we spent the entire night mooching about the plant, evading security patrols, PIR's & CCTV.

I've had fuck all sleep all week due to non stop efforts, it's only just sunk in how awesome the place really is!
